Current: v3.4.0 · 12 May 2026

  1. v3.4.0 Latest

Better night dimming + Brazilian and Polish news feeds

    • New Add Folha de S.Paulo and Gazeta Wyborcza to the news ticker (auto-selected based on current locale).
    • New New “Night Mode” brightness curve — ambient sensor now interpolates over 90 s instead of stepping, so the panel never visibly snaps when a light is turned on/off.
    • Fix Earthquake banner no longer triggers for events further than 1500 km from your configured city.
    • Faster OTA download is now resumable. A flaky Wi-Fi connection no longer means starting the update from scratch.
  2. v3.3.2

    Security & stability patch

    • Security Updated mbedTLS to 3.6.1 (CVE-2025-0876 — out-of-bounds read in DTLS handshake).
    • Fix Re-connect loop when the saved Wi-Fi network briefly drops below -85 dBm RSSI.
    • Fix Sunrise time now respects DST boundaries on the day-of, not the day-after.
  3. v3.3.0

Asianet news feed + UV index threshold alerts

    • New Asianet Malayalam feed is now available alongside BBC, RaiNews, El País and France24.
    • New New “UV ≥ 8” threshold alert — banner pulses orange when local UV index forecast crosses the limit.
    • New Configurable banner scroll speed (Slow / Normal / Fast) in the web UI.
    • Faster Boot-to-first-pixel time reduced from 1.8 s to 1.2 s by deferring RTC sync until after the LED panel is initialised.
  4. v3.2.1

Bug fixes for the v3 OTA flow

    • Fix OTA reboot no longer leaves the display blank when the new firmware fails its integrity check — automatically rolls back.
    • Fix Hotspot SSID now includes the last 4 characters of the device serial so multiple units in the same room are distinguishable.
    • Fix Italian month names now use the correct capitalisation (Gennaio, not GENNAIO) on the date banner.
  5. v3.2.0

    Over-the-air updates ship

    • New OTA firmware updates are now opt-in from the web UI. The clock checks once a week, downloads in the background, applies at next reboot.
    • New Added a “Privacy mode” toggle that disables the news feed and external API calls — the clock then only shows time and weather from the on-device sensor.
    • Faster Reduced standby power draw from 0.9 W to 0.6 W by lowering the matrix refresh rate when ambient brightness is below 5 lux.
